Satya Nadella is the third CEO of Microsoft after Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer. He was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Microsoft on 4 February 2014, succeeding Steve Ballmer. Before becoming CEO, he was Executive Vice President of Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise group, responsible for building and running the company’s computing platforms. Nadella has over 20 years of experience in the technology industry. Prior to joining Microsoft, he was Executive Vice President of the Online Services Division at Sun Microsystems. Nadella holds a Master of Science in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Mangalore University. He was born in Hyderabad, India, and is the son of an Indian Administrative Service officer.
