Taalk: What was the specific moment you knew you had to fix business communication?
Praveen Singh: It began with a simple realization that came through a series of small frustrations I kept noticing. Businesses were trying to talk to customers through so many different systems, like one for SMS, another for email, and another for calls, and none of them worked together. Teams were wasting hours switching tools, chasing updates, and missing messages. It felt broken.
That’s when I realized communication needed to evolve. It had to be smarter and faster, but also more human. That thought is what led to Tubelight Communications, a way to bring messaging, voice, and automation together so businesses could actually connect instead of just broadcast.
Taalk: Your tagline is “communication is evolution…”. What does that philosophy mean to you personally?
Praveen Singh: For me, it’s a reminder that nothing about communication stays still. The way people talk, connect, and even listen keeps changing. And if you stop evolving with it, you fall behind.
Honestly, it just keeps me curious. It makes me pause for a moment and think and ask, how do we make technology actually work for people, not the other way around?. Communication and evolution have always gone hand in hand; both are driven by the need to adapt and get through the changes. That’s why “communication is evolution” isn’t about gadgets or code. It’s about learning, growing, and finding better ways to stay human even as everything around us changes.
Taalk: What’s the human story behind your mission to revolutionize customer engagement?
Praveen Singh: I kept seeing businesses with great products and strong teams lose customers for one simple reason: their communication systems were broken. Messages didn’t reach, calls dropped, and support felt robotic. It was painful to watch technology get in the way of real connection.
That’s why we built Tubelight Communications to build a system that keeps communication human. Every message, every call, should make the customer feel seen, not processed.
The Journey
Taalk: Tell us about a moment in the early days that almost broke the company, and how you led through it.
Praveen Singh: There was a phase when we were scaling faster than our systems could handle. New clients were coming in, but our tech wasn’t ready for that load. We began to experience delays, bugs, and pressure from all sides. It was rough; we could’ve easily lost a few key clients then.
But that’s also when the team came together. We pulled long nights, reworked the whole infrastructure, rebuilt our APIs, and got stronger because of it. It tested us, but it also proved what kind of company we were building, one that doesn’t give up when things get tough.
Taalk: As Tubelight Communications scaled to over 50 employees, what was the hardest leadership lesson you had to learn?
Praveen Singh: Letting go. That’s always the hardest. In the beginning, I wanted to be part of everything: every project, every decision. But once you grow, that’s impossible. I had to learn to trust my team completely.
Delegating without losing connection—that was the challenge. Our team is based in Mumbai, but the work we do connects people across cities. One big lesson is that leadership isn’t about being in control; it’s about creating an environment where others can lead & explore too.
Taalk: Walk us through one strategic partnership that truly changed the game for your business.
Praveen Singh: Building direct relationships with major global telecom carriers was a transformative point for us. Until then, we were relying on intermediaries; there were delays, limits, and things we couldn’t control.
Once we partnered directly, the quality improved instantly, with faster delivery, fewer failures, and complete reliability. It wasn’t just a technical change; it gave us credibility. Clients started trusting us for global scale, and that changed our trajectory.
The Future
Taalk: Paint a picture for us: what does the future of customer communication actually look like?
Praveen Singh: I think it’s going to be deeply personal and completely seamless. People won’t think about “channels” anymore, whether it’s WhatsApp, voice, chat, or something new. It’ll all feel like one continuous conversation.
AI will definitely play a role, but quietly. It’ll help businesses understand what customers need before they ask, but the experience itself will still feel human. That’s what we’re building toward at Tubelight Communications: technology that feels invisible but a connection that feels real.
Taalk: As AI gets smarter, where does the essential human touch fit into customer engagement?
Praveen Singh: As smart as AI gets, it still can’t replace the human touch. It can help you predict or automate things, sure, but it doesn’t understand emotion. It doesn’t feel what a customer feels and that’s the difference. People still want to be heard by other people.
That’s never going to change. The best kind of technology, in my view, is the kind that gives humans more time to do what only they can—listen, care, and build trust.
Taalk: What’s the biggest mistake founders make when they first start using AI for communication?
Praveen Singh: The biggest mistake founders make when adopting AI for communication is seeing it as a shortcut rather than a support system. Too often, they over-automate and strip away the human context that builds relationships and makes communication effective.
AI should complement, not dominate. The goal is to use AI for precision and scale while ensuring every message retains the warmth, authenticity, and empathy that connect brands to their audiences.

Taalk: After more than 15 years in the industry, what is the one truth you’ve learned that every founder needs to hear?
Praveen Singh: Technology will change a hundred times but trust never goes out of style. You can have the best product in the world, but if your communication isn’t honest, it won’t last. People connect with sincerity: not systems, not automation, not perfect words. Just honesty. That’s the real foundation of any lasting business.
